Inspire yo'self

and others

May 2014

I was sitting in the audience listening to the presenter speak. The presenter asked a question. I knew the answer but I was too scared to raise my hand and answer it. So someone else answered it. The presenter asked a different question. I knew the answer to this one as well yet, I didn’t raise my hand to answer it. Someone else did. The presenter then asked another question. I knew the answer to this one too! Yet, I still didn’t raise my hand. And no one else did either. I kept thinking, raise your hand Tara, speak up. You know the answer. Don’t be afraid! Time passed and the presenter answered her own question.

This story just got me thinking about other circumstances and instances where I don’t speak up. It then got me thinking in general about how many of us let time pass us by, when we know the correct answer, and yet, we don’t speak up. Times when we feel we may be showing off what we know. Or times we may think we don’t deserve to get praised for what we are knowledgeable about. Or times we know we are great at something, yet we don’t speak up when someone is looking for someone who is good at what we are good at. Why do we do this? We let the moment pass us by. We don’t speak up!

I am here to tell you to, no actually to shout to you, “SPEAK UP!!!!!”

The world NEEDS people who speak up. The world needs people who aren’t afraid to climb out of their shell and help with what they have been gifted with in the first place. We shouldn’t be afraid of what other people may think or that we are being too prideful or that we are just showing off. If God gifted you with this amazing talent, then you better darn well speak up. USE it. Use it all up. I am willing to bet that what you are gifted with, is in direct correlation to what your purpose or what part of your purpose is here on this earth.

I am leaving you with a quote from Jennie Allen’s study “Restless” that really struck a chord in me after I read it. It reminds me of one of Marianne Williamson’s famous quotes. May it inspire you as it has inspired me.

“I have lived a lot of my life on the back row fearing that if I dream or live great dreams I may steal glory from God. Who am I to even think such a thing? As my friend Christine Caine says, “Who am I to dare think, that on my very best day, I could ever take one little piece of the glory of God?”

“So instead of fearing or craving greatness, crave God and run your guts out.”

Just Ask!

If you want something, ask for it.

I was at a client’s home the other day shadowing a co-worker of mine and I really had to go to the bathroom. I had to go since getting there. We were about an hour into our visit and I was in pain. I couldn’t hold it any longer. I couldn’t even pay attention to what was being talked about. All I could think about was, I really have to pee. How can I pee? Is it professional for me to ask to use their bathroom? Oh man, it really doesn’t matter because I have to pee. Just ask Tara. Just ask to use their bathroom. Say, would you mind if I used your bathroom or can I use your bathroom? Just ask. Then after about ten more minutes of this going on in my head and me in extreme pain about to pee my pants right there, I blurted it out, “Would you mind if I used your bathroom?”
Their answer was, “Sure!”
And good thing because I was already on my way to it before they answered.

This incident just made me think of how silly I was being. I was one question away from relief. Yet, that one question took me over an hour to ask. How ridiculous! For some of us, that one question may take us years to ask.

There are so many of us who have so many questions we just want to ask others. Some are out of being nosey and some are out of just wanting to know the answers to so we grow and learn more. Asking questions is okay. I’m not sure when we became so afraid of asking. If you watch kids, they have no issues asking the hard questions or even being afraid to ask silly questions. They are curious about everything so they just ask away. Sure, sometimes we are told answers we don’t want to hear but it really doesn’t hurt us physically. Even being told no doesn’t hurt us physically.

My point, ask. Ask questions. If someone tells you “No”, just ask someone else. But whatever you do, don’t stop asking. Don’t be afraid like I was where you are to the point where you are in so much pain that it is all you can focus on. Don’t get to the point where you may have caused more issues than asking in the first place.

Just ask!

Love & Blessings,

Our world tends to get the definition of hard wrong. I used to. I remember when I first started to step outside of my comfort zone, I would always complain about how hard it was. I would challenge myself to make conversation with store clerks, cashiers, waitresses, random people and I would always think it is so hard. The truth is, it is not hard. Not at all. Maybe a little scary? Yes. I was after all, stepping outside of my comfort zone. But hard? No. Not hard.

Hard is getting hit by a bus or a car. Hard is losing a loved one. Hard is getting set on fire. Hard is battling depression or cancer or an illness or being paralyzed. I don’t mean to get so dramatic here but that stuff is hard.

Stepping outside of your comfort zone isn’t hard.

People either take you as you are or leave you as you are. When we step outside of our comfort zones, we won’t die. We won’t get rocks thrown at us. We won’t get beaten up. It is not hard. Don’t get it twisted. Don’t get it confused.

Go on now. Step outside of your comfort zone. It is not hard. It is liberating.

Pulling Dreams Into Reality

Imagine waking up tomorrow morning with the freedom to plan your day however you want to. Imagine waking up tomorrow morning with time and money no issue. Imagine waking up without an alarm clock being the one to wake you up. Imagine waking up tomorrow being able to travel to wherever you want to. Imagine waking up tomorrow and being able to stay home with your children. Imagine waking up tomorrow and being able to give a large amount of money to a charity or organization you hold close to your heart. Imagine waking up tomorrow and being able to take your whole family (parents, sisters, brothers, grandparents, etc) on that dream vacation all paid for by you. Imagine waking up tomorrow and being able to retire at a young age so you can actually enjoy your life right NOW. Imagine waking up tomorrow and feeling the best you have ever felt physically. Imagine waking up tomorrow morning and being able to inspire others to live this life you are living. Imagine waking up tomorrow and being able to have freedom. Freedom in all areas of life. Free to give, free to roam; free to live your life without limits. Really imagine this life. Really feel how you would feel if you could truly do what you only dream of doing. Paint the picture of YOUR dream life in your head.

Now the big question….why aren’t you living it??

I have a gift that offers a solution to you or it offers freedom to you. There is a 90 day project that I am working on. I am looking for only 10 people who really want to free themselves and give themselves an income that would allow them to travel the world at the end of the 90 days or quit their job or do whatever freedom would look like for them.

Are you interested?
